CERTAINTY
Certainty is not standing still. It is a river that keeps its course through every season. CERTAINTY gives that feeling a form: steady objects for days that keep moving.

The motif
Water ripples,
woven in black and white.
The zigzag in this brocade is read as the ripple of the Pingtan River, which runs past the Dong villages of Tongdao. In CERTAINTY it flows from the village into the city, softening the hard edges of a working day.

The cloth
Dong brocade
Known historically as lun zhi, Dong brocade has been handwoven by Dong women for more than 2,000 years. It was listed as national intangible cultural heritage in China in 2008.
