The fibre
Cotton fibre is cleaned, drawn and wound into usable thread. Even before weaving begins, the material passes repeatedly through the hands.

Light daily carry, cultural journeys and hands-free moments after dark.
A phone, cardholder, keys and the small objects kept closest.
Chevron Dong brocade, looped edging and a tactile toggle finish celebrate the hand of the maker.
The Loom Keeper Crossbody places woven structure at the centre of the design. Its compact rectangular body is framed by a black-and-ivory Dong brocade panel and finished with a cord-and-toggle closure.
The dense textile surface celebrates the irregular precision of handwork. Rather than reproducing a traditional object, the design carries the knowledge of weaving into an everyday crossbody.
Natural variations in the textile are part of its character and make every piece quietly unique.
Here the textile is not an accent but the architecture of the object. Dense black texture is framed by a precise chevron band, translating the cadence of a loom into a compact everyday form.
Looped edging, woven strap and corded toggle reveal how softness can create structure. The hand remains visible in the changing density of the surface and the finish of each edge.
A small hands-free companion for the few things that matter most, made expressive through texture rather than volume.
Known historically as lun zhi, Dong brocade is a handwoven textile tradition carried through generations of Dong women for more than two millennia. Dyed cotton threads are counted, tensioned and woven into geometric order. The cloth is slow by nature: Yunbuyao project records note that weaving a single metre can require about three days, before the time-intensive preparation of the yarn and warp.

Cotton fibre is cleaned, drawn and wound into usable thread. Even before weaving begins, the material passes repeatedly through the hands.

Cotton yarn is prepared in a restrained palette. Colour is established before the structure of the pattern can emerge.

Threads are measured, counted and tensioned. A small error here can travel through the entire length of cloth.

At the wooden loom, the shuttle builds the ground while selected threads form the geometric motif, one passage at a time.

The finished brocade is read like a composition. Motifs are aligned with the product pattern before a cut is made.

Textile, lining and hardware are brought together; edges, stitches and ornament are checked by hand before the piece leaves the studio.
WOVELLUNE is the international expression of Yunbuyao’s long-term work with traditional textile practice. Since participating in Dong brocade development in Tongdao, the team has connected research, skills training and contemporary product design so that knowledge can remain active in the place where it was formed.
These bags do not attempt to reproduce a ceremonial object. They give handwoven cloth a daily role. Every measured panel asks the modern form to respect the time, judgement and variation held in the textile.
Cultural and project facts are drawn from Yunbuyao’s existing brand and project records.
Handwoven Dong brocade, tactile woven body, textile strap and antique-tone hardware. Chevron Dong brocade, looped edging and a tactile toggle finish celebrate the hand of the maker.
A compact crossbody format for the essentials. Final measurements will be confirmed against the production sample.
Keep dry, avoid prolonged sunlight and clean gently with a soft cloth. Store filled in its dust bag when not in use.
