Illustrative process imageKnown historically as lun zhi, Dong brocade is a handwoven textile tradition carried through generations of Dong women for more than two millennia. Dyed cotton threads are counted, tensioned and woven into geometric order. The cloth is slow by nature: Yunbuyao project records note that weaving a single metre can require about three days, before the time-intensive preparation of the yarn and warp.

A bag earns its place through use: how it carries, how it feels and how it moves through a full day.
The textile has a deliberate role in the form. Its history matters because the craft continues to live in contemporary objects.
In a world of constant noise, softness becomes a form of emotional protection.
Read ReflectionDong brocade begins with prepared yarn, a counted warp and measured weaving. On each product page, the material story sits beside the shape and everyday details so the object and its craft can be examined together.
