The core motif is "Carp Leaping Through the Dragon Gate" (Li Yu Yue Long Men). Yellow River carp are believed to possess extraordinary spiritual energy, symbolizing opportunity and prosperity. Born from the silt-laden golden waters, their scales shimmer with a divine golden hue.

Ancient scholars imagined these golden carp leaping through the Dragon Gate to transform into celestial dragons. This imagery has been celebrated by literati for centuries, embodying the cultural ideals of perseverance against adversity, upward striving, and the courage to pursue one's grandest dreams.

The spacious main compartment features 1 zippered security pocket (ideal for passport and valuables) and 2 open slip pockets (perfect for lipstick, keys, and small essentials).

The exterior adjustable vintage brass chain shoulder strap supports both single-shoulder and crossbody wear, seamlessly transitioning from weekday urban commutes to weekend afternoon tea gatherings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our heritage fabrics begin on traditional wooden handlooms, where master artisans weave the base textile by hand—a process that can take several days per piece. Certain finishing steps, such as precise edge trimming and durability reinforcement, use specialized modern machines to ensure your bag lasts for decades. The soul of the fabric remains distinctly handcrafted.

All pattern cutting, fabric placement, and final hand-stitching of the lining are done entirely by hand in our studio. High-stress seams (such as the top edge and strap attachments) are stitched with industrial sewing machines for unparalleled strength. This hybrid approach honors craftsmanship while ensuring your bag withstands daily use.

From fabric preparation to final inspection, each Yunbuyao bag requires approximately 2–3 weeks of work. Much of this time is dedicated to waiting: the fabric must rest after cutting, the glue must cure naturally, and the leather must settle before final assembly. We never rush this process.

Yes. We offer hand-embroidered initials, alternative lining colors, and limited hardware options. For serious inquiries about bespoke pieces, please contact us directly—our artisan will consult with you personally.

Keep the bag dry and avoid prolonged direct sunlight. For the fabric, gently brush with a soft, dry cloth. For leather, use a high-quality, neutral leather conditioner once or twice a year. Never machine wash or use chemical cleaners. A full care guide is included with your purchase.

We offer a 14-day return window for unused pieces. Beyond that, we stand behind our work: if a seam fails or a component breaks within the first year, we will repair it free of charge. For wear and tear over time, we offer paid restoration services to keep your bag in heirloom condition.

Our textiles are sourced from weaving cooperatives in regions with centuries of textile heritage. The final bag assembly—cutting, stitching, and finishing—takes place in our studio, where each piece is signed by the artisan who made it.

While our bags make stunning companions for weddings, galas, and ceremonies, they are designed to be lived with. We reinforce stress points, select durable linings, and use robust hardware precisely so that you can carry your heritage daily. A beautiful bag should not live in a dust bag.
